Anti-oppression/Anti-racism Training
Across Boundaries is proud to offer anti-racist/anti-oppression training as a service. Our Anti-Oppressive Training program is designed to equip individuals and organizations with the tools, knowledge, and skills to foster inclusive and equitable environments. We aim to support progressive organizations looking to grow in the areas of inclusion, anti-racism, anti-oppression, and confronting anti-Black racism among other necessary topics rooted in critical race theory. Sessions are tailored to the needs of the organization – we tackle relevant organizational topics in a sensitive and nuanced manner. Whether your participants are experts in these topics or just getting started, Across Boundaries is prepared to support you.
Training Formats
Our programs are designed for all types of organizations and healthcare providers committed to fostering inclusive and equitable environments. We are in the process of launching digital training that will be accessible to individuals. To be notified when these are available, please sign up.
We provide both in-person (GTA only) and virtual training. Based on the requirements, we can offer full-day or half-day sessions. Training is conducted by facilitators from the Racialized, Black, and Indigenous communities who are highly experienced in their field of work.

Foundations to Anti-Oppression and Anti-Racism
For workplaces that are new(er) to discussing and understanding anti-oppression and anti-racism. If your organisation is just getting started with safe spaces, affinity group discussions, or any sort of activism this may be the session for you. Participants can expect to receive a foundational understanding of systemic oppression included but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, saniesm, and more. It provides participants with the ability to identify, analyze, and confront the dynamics of power and privilege on a systemic and macro level. These help shape understanding of social, professional, and daily impacts.
Comprehensive Insight to Anti-Oppression and Anti-Racism
For workplaces and participants that are immersed in frequent discussions and understanding of anti oppression and anti-racism. Participants can expect to experience an immersive and interactive session focused on digging deep into understanding systemic oppression including racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism and saneism. This session will focus on encouraging personal introspection leading to building empathy and solidarity with marginalized communities. Participants can expect to reflect on their lived experiences focusing on the interpersonal.
Organizational Transformation
If your organization is ready for a longer commitment to understanding inequity, this may be the model for you. We encourage organizations ready for a commitment lasting longer than 3 months. Sessions will be cumulative with take-away activities and homework to encourage continuous learning. The content of the workshops can be tailored to whether your participants are seasoned experts or getting started with discussions regarding systemic oppression. This model is ideal for organizations working to create shifts within their organizational culture, service delivery or operation. We will work with organization leads to evaluate the success of the sessions based on the shifts occurring within the workplace.
